Project Overview
For this project, I was tasked with setting up an email campaign for Homework Helpers—a tutoring business offering both online and in-person educational services. Using Mailchimp’s new email builder, I transformed a set of provided assets (logo, images, and draft text) into a fully designed email campaign, ensuring that the final product accurately reflected the brand’s personality and visual identity. In addition, I created a reusable email template based on my finished campaign, streamlining future marketing efforts.
Process and Execution
Initial Planning and Content Review
I began by thoroughly reviewing the project brief, which included a subject line, preview text, email body (with headings, subheadings, and button text), and alt text for images. Understanding the brand’s tone and visual elements was essential, so I compared the provided assets against Homework Helpers’ style guidelines.
Design and Setup in Mailchimp
Layout Configuration: I set up the email structure using Mailchimp’s drag-and-drop interface, selecting layout blocks that best showcased the logo, images, and text in a coherent manner.
Writing Copy: Created the email copy. utilized the brand identity whilst adding some personal creativity to make sure the copy was engaging but still relevant to the purpose.
Content Integration: Next, I imported the provided content into the respective sections. Special attention was given to the placement of images (including alt text) and the consistent application of the brand’s colors and typography.
Customization: I adjusted spacing, alignment, and button styles to ensure that the design was visually appealing and easy to navigate. This stage involved frequent previews and testing across different device formats to guarantee responsiveness.
Template Creation for Future Use
After finalizing the email campaign, I converted the finished design into a template. This step was crucial for ensuring consistency in future campaigns and saving time on repetitive design tasks. I documented the design specifications and structure so that team members could easily modify and update content as needed.
Challenges and Lessons Learned
Content Alignment and Consistency:
Ensuring that the provided content aligned perfectly with the brand’s aesthetic was more complex than anticipated. I initially misplaced some text blocks, which resulted in a less cohesive design. Through iterative testing and feedback from peers, I refined the layout to better reflect the brand’s identity.

Outcome and Reflection
This project not only honed my skills in using Mailchimp’s modern email builder but also deepened my understanding of creating adaptable marketing templates.
